"The Kill Point"
(2007) TV mini-series....Chloe
(from Spike TV's press release) "The Kill Point"
(originally dubbed "The Kill Pit") revolves around a
downtown bank robbery by a team of American Iraqi-War veterans. More
than a dozen hostages from all walks of life are taken, ranging from
the daughter of a business tycoon to an adulterous couple.
Throughout the eight-hour event, viewers will follow the escalating
action as the volatile soldiers plot their way out, the negotiator
anticipates their moves and the hostages desperately try to survive.
Time is critical and the game intensifies with surprising twists at
every turn. Told in semi-real time, in the same vein as 24, this
action-packed show takes the audience through every move as the
story unfolds – the meticulously planned bank heist, the SWAT team
maneuvers and the attempts of the hostage negotiator to resolve the
situation with a minimal body count. With the clock ticking and no
sense as to how things will unfold, viewers will be on the edge of
their seats guessing what will happen next.
Acclaimed director Steve Shill ("The Sopranos," "The Wire," "Rome"
and the
upcoming series "The Tudors") has joined the production to
direct the first four hours. Written by James DeMonaco (The
Negotiator, Assault on Precinct 13) and executive produced by David
Hoberman ("Monk," Bringing Down the House), Todd Lieberman (Eight
Below, Bringing Down the House) and DeMonaco, the series follows a
bank heist that goes terribly awry and the hostage negotiations that
ensue. "The Kill Point" is produced by Lionsgate in association with
Mandeville.
Donnie Wahlberg has been signed to star opposite John Leguizamo in
Spike TV's new fast-paced, thrilling original scripted eight-hour
dramatic event "The Kill Point." John Leguizamo plays
"Wolf," the leader
of the bank robbers, ex-US soldiers who have returned from Iraq.
Donnie Wahlberg portrays "Horst
Cali," the chief negotiator
who tries to coax Leguizamo's character out of the hostage situation
that ensues. Frank Grillo
will be
playing Pig, one of the four Iraqi-War veterans.
Also been added to the cast are Steve Cirbus
and Michael
Hogan in the role of Hawk. Peter Appel,
Dana Ashbrook, Adam Cantor, Jeremy Davidson, Christine Evangelista,
Leo Fitzpatrick, Michael Hyatt,
Mike McGlone, and Wayne Kasserman
round out the cast of "The Kill Point."
